As a General Manager in B&I Contract Catering, I am always looking for innovative, exciting and interesting ways to keep my business ahead of the game, on trend and in line with what is current in both the food world and everything involved within that.
As a non-vegan myself and with not an extensive knowledge of Veganism apart from knowing how much this lifestyle has increased in popularity over the past years, I wanted to make the most of Veganuary. My aim was to impress my customers, bring something exciting to the table that was relevant to us; this is when I came across JP (Portobello Vegan) and his Plants Based Events Company.
After initially connecting over Instagram, JP and I arranged a consultation whereby he visited our site to get a feel for the environment and enable him to create a proposal for what he could provide and what he believed would work for our space and our clientele. He took note of all of the companies requirements, was amazingly quick on coming back with his proposal. His ideas were completely spot on for what I was looking for and what would work for us at Lexington providing our catering services to Ofcom, I was happy to go with everything he suggested.
In essence, I didn’t have to do anything but arrange the required elements from my end as JP covered everything from organising the wonderful Green Grill team to do a kitchen takeover and the thoughtfully put together list of market traders, The Leaning Tree Organics, K&R London Organic Candles, Sead Foods and Greener Habits Co. all of which were brilliantly professional, knowledgeable with amazing products as well as being present throughout the event, talking to customers and helping to create a great buzz.
JP was organised, collected and even calmed my nerves on the day as he had everything in hand. All in all, he created a wonderful event that was well received by everyone involved and has generated excellent feedback from my customers. A huge success and an amazing team to work with who I have no doubt I will partner with in the future.
